2025 Topic: Peace, Justice, and
Strong Institutions

United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

This year, students in grades PreK through 12 will work to RECOGNIZE barriers to Peace & Justice and REIMAGINE approaches for REBUILDING communities and institutions that prioritize Peace & Justice for all.

Who?

Hack for Global Good welcomes students from around Rhode Island to work together to develop innovative solutions related to UN Global Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. No prior Hackathon experience is required! New hackers welcome!

Where?

Students will hack at Rocky Hill Country Day School in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.

Why?

Participation in the Hack for Global Good offers students the opportunity to collaborate, ideate, problem-solve, and network all while contributing innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. As one of the Hack For Global Co-Chairs said, “Changing the world is hard, but a hard thing will become an impossible thing without a start. The Hack for Global Good can be your starting point.” Participating in the H4GG allows YOU to be a change agent. Join us!

The Pitch

Teams have just 5 minutes to present and share on stage using PowerPoint, video, posters, art, music, a physical prototype, a working model, 3D rendering, or any other method to explain their idea/solution.

Teams must be ready to clearly articulate the following before a panel of industry Judges:

1. The Problem
2. The Solution
3. The Impact

Global Impact

The “Global Impact” award is given to the team that presents a bold and broad solution, capable of impacting the most amount of people on planet earth.

Best Pitch
